StateoftheART Gallery’s Stanford Stockroom offers art lovers the opportunity to view and acquire exceptional contemporary South African art.

Founded in 2010, StateoftheART Gallery is one of South Africa’s leading online-first galleries, representing a carefully curated selection of contemporary artists whose work is collected locally and internationally. While hundreds of artworks are available online through the gallery’s website, a handpicked selection is available to view by appointment from the Stanford Stockroom.

The collection includes paintings, drawings, prints and ceramic works by some of South Africa’s most exciting contemporary artists. Regularly refreshed, the Stockroom provides visitors with the opportunity to experience artworks firsthand before making a purchase.

Visitors are encouraged to browse the Stanford Stockroom page on the StateoftheART Gallery website before arranging a viewing. The page displays the artworks currently available to see in person, making it easy to identify particular pieces of interest ahead of a visit.

Beyond the Stockroom itself, the StateoftheART Gallery website offers access to an extensive collection of original artworks available exclusively through the gallery. Many of these works are held in artists’ studios around the country, giving collectors access to a far broader range of contemporary South African art than could ever be displayed in a traditional gallery space.
